First and foremost in order for us to have the amazing day we all want we need you as members to help. We need volunteers, money and understanding on how to have a safe and happy holiday!
We will once again run the Devon Raffle (details below) to raise money. Like last year we will be holding a LIVE AUCTION on Sunday June 30th at 5p for a couple coveted items on the 4th . The items to be live auctioned off are:
- The space between the snack bar and the pool rail. This space will include for you
– 2 six foot tables, 6 rocking chairs.
– You will need to provide your own pop up – but this is a primo location for the day! I will need to store the computer and microphone that we play music off of for the day but it won’t stop you from having an amazing day! - Two chaise lounges of your choosing
- One table of your choosing – can be in the pavilion or on deck
If the raffle or the live auction aren’t of interest to you but you still want to support the day you can simply make a donation!
If you have been around Devon the past couple of years, you know we take the 4th of July very seriously! It is a great day for your whole family! To get you ready for the day, please read!
- There will be no guests permitted on the 4th of July – with so many members it is our goal to ensure all members have a great time and we really don’t have room for guests.
- The 4th is a Tuesday so the front gate will go up at 10:30 a.m. NO ONE will be permitted in prior to 10:30 a.m. That being said, a line normally starts forming around 9:30 a.m. –
- We ask members to please only take one table. If you have one in the pavilion, do not take one on the deck.
- There will be a 4th of July Tennis Tourney that starts at 9:00 a.m. If you are playing in the tourney, plan accordingly for someone else in your group to get your area.
- The past couple of years we have allowed members to set up the night before the 4th starting at 4:00 p.m. out in the lawn. The area between the pool and the tennis courts and the grassy areas closest to the volleyball courts is tent city. You are welcome to do that again this year.
- Activities will start at 12:30 p.m. with kids games out on the front lawn and end with our very own fireworks display. I will put the schedule of events on the next page.
- In order to do our own fireworks display – we run the Devon Raffle every year. You may buy your tickets through credit/debit card or Apple Pay code at the front desk.
- The pool WILL close at 9:00 p.m. Please pack up your goodies, clean your area up, take everything to your cars and then come back in and get a seat for the fireworks. The fireworks will start as soon as it is dark enough – and when they end, you will be ready to head out!
Schedule of Events
- 8:30a – Check in for 4 th of July Tennis Tourney begins, registration is still available on the website.
- 9a – Tennis Tourney begins.
- 10:30a – Front Gate will go up
- 12:30p- Kids games on the front lawn
- 1p-15 minute Safety Break- Entire pool cleared
- 1:30p- Kids water balloon toss
- 2p – 18+ Water Balloon Toss
- 2:30p – Kids pool games begin
- 3p – 15 minute Safety Break – Entire pool cleared
- 4p – Guards v Adults Greased Watermelon – the pool is cleared of anyone under the age of 18 during this time and all eyes are on the action in the deep end.
- 5p – 15 minute Safety Break – Entire pool cleared
- 5:15p – Biggest Splash contest begins. This will be split out by age group
- 7p – 15 minute safety break – Entire pool cleared
- 9p – Pool officially closes
- 9:45+/- Devon’s Firework Show
